Asthma: 

Asthma is a condition that causes the airways to narrow, swell, and produce excess mucus. Asthma can range from minor to severe and can interfere with daily activities.

Asthma can be categorized based on cause:

  • Exercise-induced asthma: triggered during physical activity and can often ge worse when the air is dry and cold. 
  • Occupational asthma: triggered in a workplace that has irritants such as gas, dust, or chemical fumes present 
  • Allergy-induced asthma: triggered by pollen, spores, mold, or pet dander

  • Coughing
  • Wheezing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness
