Following graduation and certification, she pursued a career in the family medicine and urgent care setting.

During her time as a nurse in the ICU, Lauren saw firsthand how unmanaged chronic conditions can lead to acute complications and hospitalization. These experiences drove her to pursue a career in primary care, where she is focused on preventing illness and helping patients achieve optimal health before they need critical interventions.
Lauren views the patient-provider relationship as a partnership, working closely with each patient to develop individualized care plans that align with their unique health goals. She believes in empowering patients to take an active role in their health and well-being, and together, they work toward achieving lasting wellness.
With a special interest in mental health, chronic disease management, and women’s health, Lauren stays up to date with the latest evidence-based practices to ensure the best outcomes for her patients.
Outside of the clinic, Lauren enjoys spending time with family, going for walks with her dog, and reading. Lauren is excited to serve the Wixom community and looks forward to building lasting partnerships with patients to help them live healthier lives.
Although she attended both universities, she still roots for the Spartans when they play the Wolverines.
She spent the first 4.5 years of her career as a bedside nurse at Michigan Medicine working as a cardiac nurse and a float nurse through multiple other specialty units. As a nurse practitioner student, she rotated with PrimeCare of Novi and was very excited to start her career at PrimeCare Urgent Care after graduation. She also volunteers once per month at a clinic to care for patients without health insurance.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Lauren takes care of patients of all ages. She is passionate about both acute and chronic disease prevention and management through a healthy lifestyle. She believes achieving health involves physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
Lauren grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan but spent many weekends and holidays in Metro Detroit visiting her large extended family. Lauren is a new mom and loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and her dog, Stanley. She loves to spend her free time staying active outdoors and traveling with her family to Northern Michigan.
As a Physician Assistant, Devyn is trained to work with patients throughout the lifespan, managing both acute and chronic illnesses. Her training allows her the flexibility to work and transition between specialties to meet the needs of the community. She was excited to start her career at PrimeCare Urgent Care in 2018.
Devyn was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. Her perfect day is out on the lake in the middle of summer. She also enjoys traveling domestically and internationally.
Prior to her medical school education she attained a Masters of Public Health degree through the Michigan State College of Human Medicine, and before this she attended Arizona State University earning degrees in Biological Sciences and Global Health.
In her free time she likes to travel, tend to her garden, exercise, crochet and has a great love for animals big and small. After growing up on a farm in Pennsylvania, Dr. Kostiuk has recently moved to a more rural setting which brings back memories of her childhood. She plans to have a big family and welcome goats, chickens, and horses to her farm in the near future.
Most of Frank’s clinical experience has been in the emergency department where he often took care of people experiencing broken bones, heart attacks, deep cuts, blood clots, pneumonia, and several other acute illnesses and injuries. Frank enjoys taking care of people no matter where they are in their life. He is a bit of a generalist himself since he enjoys taking care of everyone and everything.
Frank grew up in South Lyon, MI and still lives in that area to this day. He also serves as faculty in the School of Nursing at Eastern Michigan University where he teaches both undergraduate nursing students and graduate nurse practitioner students. He has also prepared and delivered numerous presentations to local, state, and national associations about how to diminish the US opioid crisis. He enjoys basketball, golf, fishing, and spending time with his wife and children. One nickname that has carried with him over the years is “Frank the tank”. Thanks for choosing PrimeCare!
Though trained to care for pediatrics, adults, geriatrics and sports medicine, he has taken interest in many areas including childhood asthma, dermatology, diabetes, and osteopathic manipulation.
He grew up in Walled Lake and is very enthusiastic to start to give back to his community. He enjoys golfing and writing and believes that the key to a healthy lifestyle involves great communication between physician and patient coupled with good preventative medicine. Good decisions can be made only when there is cooperation between family and physician.
He also believes that the Family Doctor is the quarterback in the health care team and needs to make sure that the patient is informed and making the best decisions. With that responsibility is deciding which specialist or treatment makes the most sense for each situation. He is a father to a daughter and two sons and appreciates the care needed for a growing family.
He also feels that it is important to see his patients when they are admitted to the hospital so that he can provide the best continuity of care.
Prevention is the key to maintaining good health and at PrimeCare of Novi, Dr. Zaid and the other Novi Family Doctors use evidence based medicine to make the best decisions. We have an electronic medical record which allows us to send information to other offices in Novi or anywhere in the country within seconds.
All of the physicians at PrimeCare preach consistency and you can be assured that they will be on the same page when it comes to your healthcare.

As a 1978 graduate of The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, my post-graduate training was completed locally at the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital Corporation. I then fulfilled an obligation to the National Health Service Corps and served two years in rural Pennsylvania. After that, I then went into self-employed solo practice in the same area of Appalachia where we stayed for an additional sixteen years.
In 1995, my wife and four children and I moved to Novi in response to an offer to teach geriatrics on the Family Practice faculty of Providence Hospital. As part of that faculty, I received the coveted Swartzburg award for teaching awarded by the residents. Teaching remains an important part of PrimeCare of Novi to this day as we often have students or residents at various levels of training shadowing our physicians. We remain part of the teaching faculty of the Family Medicine residency of Providence Hospital.
In 2005, I rejoined the faculty to become the first Osteopathic Medical Director of the Providence Family Medicine residency. Since then I have contracted my professional efforts to devote them solely to making PrimeCare of Novi the best medical home east of the Mississippi.
To that end, we employ an electronic health record. That may not mean much to many patients and quite frankly, it does not matter how office notes are kept. If they’re accurate, they could be kept on index cards in a shoe box for all that matters! What matters is what you do with that information, and how you use the technology to make good doctors and care teams even better. Every hour, we are using the information in our records to identify opportunities to improve the care we deliver.
You will find in me a conservative advisor who emphasizes preventive medicine, who tries to use the least amount of medicine, for the shortest possible period of time that it takes to do the job. I clearly want the job done. I’m easy-going, like to explain and teach, and will work hard to earn your trust and respect.
I trust it will be a mutually-rewarding, long-term relationship which you will savor and promote to your dearest friends and family.
I bring to PrimeCare boundless energy, 26 years of clinical experience, board certification in Family Practice and geriatrics, and a Masters in Health Science Administration. I remain an avid runner, and have frequently appeared in the local theatre.
