Chest pain can come from the heart, lungs, muscles, stomach, anxiety, or infection. Our providers evaluate symptoms, risk factors, oxygen level, vital signs, and EKG findings when appropriate. If symptoms suggest a heart attack, blood clot, or other emergency, we will direct you to the ER immediately.

Can urgent care evaluate chest pain in Novi?

PrimeCare Urgent Care can evaluate selected mild chest symptoms and perform an EKG when appropriate. Severe or concerning chest pain should go directly to the ER or call 911.

When is chest pain an emergency?

Call 911 for crushing pressure, pain spreading to the arm, jaw, or back, shortness of breath, sweating, fainting, severe weakness, or chest pain that feels new or serious.

Can chest pain be from reflux or muscle strain?

Yes. Heartburn, chest wall strain, coughing, anxiety, and respiratory infections can cause chest discomfort. A provider evaluation helps determine the safest next step.

Do you do EKGs for chest pain?

Yes. We can perform an EKG in the office when clinically appropriate and guide you on whether urgent ER evaluation is needed.
